Alicia completed her post graduate diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and a master's degree in Manipulative Physiotherapy from
University of Otago, New Zealand. Her passion and childhood dream of
playing cricket in Australia brought her down under approximately 8
years ago.
Her
international experience so far includes treating individuals from all
walks of life/cultures and age groups pursuing different professions.
Her areas of interest are management of orofacial (headaches/jaw/TMJ/tinnitus) and spinal pain (neck, thoracic and lower back). Holistic in
her approach, she specializes in the assessment and management of
different musculoskeletal/ orthopedic and sporting injuries. She uses a
range of manual therapy and / or dry needling/ Japanese acupuncture in
combination with movement re-education, taping and specific exercise
rehabilitation techniques to try and establish more optimal movement
patterns. She also is involved in setting up a customised clinical Pilates exercise program and run classes at the clinic.
Alicia
currently enjoys playing premier cricket and beach handball in summer
and indoor cricket, bouldering, camping and hiking in winter. In
addition, she practices meditation, yoga and Tai Chi/ Chi Kung to
further improve the mind and body connection. Lastly, if time permits,
she enjoys photography, astronomy, creative writing and reading anything
related to the working of the human mind and body.
