Dr Stephan Brill

MBChB , MSc Sports Medicine 

Dr Stephan Brill is a Sport and Exercise Physician Registrar with a solid foundation in emergency medicine and trauma. He graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2013 and has since worked in various public and private healthcare settings in both South Africa and Australia.

In 2020, Dr Brill completed a Master’s in Sports and Exercise Medicine, graduating Cum Laude. His research during this time focused on how pre-race medical evaluations can predict adverse outcomes in long-distance events, such as a 90km road race. This research has contributed valuable insights into the safety and well-being of athletes participating in endurance events.

After emigrating to Australia in 2020, Dr Brill transitioned to specialise in Sports and Exercise Medicine, where he has worked with athletes across a wide range of sports, including Ironman, Rugby Union, Cricket, and Horse Racing. His deep understanding of the physical demands of various sports, paired with his extensive medical training, allows him to provide exceptional care for athletes at all levels.

Dr Brill has a keen interest in diagnosing and treating both acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, with the ultimate goal of ensuring the best possible outcomes for his patients. He is particularly passionate about optimising recovery and performance for athletes through evidence-based treatment strategies.

Beyond his professional expertise, Dr Brill has a personal interest in soccer, cricket, rugby, swimming, and triathlon, as well as many other sports, which fuels his passion for helping others maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.
